How do I apply to a school?
As a parent you have the right to apply for any secondary school in Stoke-on-Trent or out of city. From 2010/11, catchment areas for secondary school admissions were abolished.
You will be given a brochure about the secondary schools in Stoke-on-Trent from your child's primary school. A form will be in this to apply for your child's place. You can fill in the application for the school on paper or by using the e-admissions form on the website.
Some Primary Schools will request that you return the Admissions Form back to them, and they will then forward it to the Local Authority. Alternatively you can send the form back to: Admissions and Family Services, Children and Young People Services, Floor 2, Civic Centre, Glebe Street, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, ST4 1HH.
The Admissions team will then submit your application, so that your preferences can be logged, and considered at the schools that have their own admissions criteria. You will be informed of your school at the beginning of March.
